DEFINITON

There are many definitions for science. However the one below is a more comprehensive definition that takes into account the ongoing, changing nature of science as an evolving , ever changing field. This definition includes 3 statements.

  1. Science is a human endeavor which develops and uses models, laws, and theories, to explain phenomena that occur in the natural world.
  2. Science uses a variety of methods to investigate testable ideas that provide empirical evidence which are peer reviewed and contribute to a growing and evolving scientific body of knowledge.
  3. Science is a way of knowing that relies on logic, evidence, and reasoning while assuming an order and consistency of natural systems.
